New beginning and a long hiatus without updates!

Following a brief stint as a Research Data Analyst at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Calgary, after graduation, I joined Nunavik Research Center (NRC), Kuujjuaq, Quebec. I joined NRC as a Wildlife Disease Specialist in May 2025 and have been continuing to make the best of this position.

There have been tons of new things that happened in the last one year, including conference participations, presentations, lab work, wildlife necropsies, and field work in the Canadian North. I will keep you posted!

Post-defense celebration!

We celebrated 4 successful defenses and a pre-Christmas get-together at Drs. Orsel and van der Meer's abode! The first to defend was Nathan Lutevele (MSc - Maria Camilla Ceballos Betancourt's lab), and then Dr. Sanjaya Mijar (Dr. Karin Orsel's lab), Dr. Angelica Petersen Dias (Dr. Jeroen De Buck's lab), and myself! The path will likely be parted now but the memories and professional connections will last! Happy New Year 2025!

Thesis defended!

The three-year-long journey of fun-filled learning has finally concluded on Dec 9, 2024. This journey has changed me from a naive yet passionate student in molecular sciences and infectious diseases to a professional with strong skills in these subjects. I am grateful to all the beautiful souls who helped me to be where I am today! See you around!
